One of my favorite ways to celebrate the spring season is to SPRING CLEAN! As a mom, wife, and CEO, I like to embrace spring with some much needed cleaning, organizing and home updates. Now, this may sound like such a time-consuming task, but once completed, it pumps me up and prepares me to take on the world again! Therefore, today I would like to share a few of my top tips of bringing some spring-time flair into your home to create a refreshed and renewed outlook on the season.
Color is Key
A great way to brighten up your space is to simply paint the walls. I’m not suggesting you go out and buy new paint and change up your home’s entire look, because not many of us have that time nor the energy. However, if you give your home or even a room a fresh coat of paint of its current color, the room will come to life and look new again. A fresh coat of paint can go a long way. If you prefer, you can change the paint color to reflect spring such as soft blues, greens, pinks and/or peaches. Another inexpensive idea is to simply replace your home’s accessories to something more colorful.

Open Your Space to Natural Light
If you have very large windows and a private outdoor area, tie up your draperies for the Spring. This will open up the space and make it appear to be larger and add some much needed sunshine in your home, which in turn will give you more energy to go out and do some spring activities. If you prefer to change your draperies, go with neutral colors and light fabric such as sheers or linens to allow more sunlight in. If your room tends to be a lot darker due to lack of light, or does not have a window, add statement lighting pieces to not only brighten the room but enhance the overall design aesthetic.

Make it Sparkle
Another fabulous way to bring spring indoors, is to open up the space and make it appear to be larger. A great way to open up space is to add large floor mirrors. There are so many great floor mirrors out there that can open up the space and add more texture and depth to the overall look. A stylish floor mirror can definitely take a room’s look to the next level.

Add Spring Scents
One of the biggest impacts that will help the overall ambiance is scent. I absolutely love to keep my home smelling great because a fresh home makes you feel more relaxed and at ease after a long day at work. One of my favorite ways to bring the spring season indoors is to introduce candles, incense or fresh flowers. These items will have your home smelling fresh and clean.

Swap out Artwork and Picture Frames
Not everyone will want to paint their walls for a seasonal update, therefore an alternative to bring flair into the home is through artwork. Artwork in the home should be used to tie an entire room together and also reflect the home owners personalities. If you are looking to change up your style to be more fresh and vibrant just in time for spring, try including artwork that emphasizes the outdoor elements of spring. Art featuring beaches or plants are the perfect additions. Another quick and easy way to update the room is to change out the picture frames of family photos around the home. Go with picture frames in light and brighter tones.

Organize and Declutter
Last but not least, the most important way to begin to prepare for spring is to declutter your home and organize it. As they say, a clean and organized space allows for better flow of thoughts to an overall environment. If you have items around the home that you do not use and can be reused by someone else, donate them to a local charity or Salvation Army. Additionally, if you are holding on to items that can be tossed away or recycled – take the time to rid your space of them. You will feel so much better when your home is in order and organized. Trust me!
