We are excited to share a glimpse of Nina Magon’s debut furniture collaboration with Universal Furniture. As the Creative Director of Houston and Miami-based Contour Interior Design, Nina spends most days designing beautiful and modern luxury residential and commercial spaces featuring plenty of custom furnishings. At Spring Market, we will observe, and no doubt swoon over, the many ways in which she has applied her taste for modern European glamour to an affordable line of upholstery and case pieces.
The 5’W Marcel Console features a Carrara marble top and tubular metal base in a bronze finish.
Sleek surfaces, modern shapes and bold colors dominate the collection, which comprises approximately fifty skus. First impression indicates that Universal stretched their norm to capture Nina’s sophisticated and fashionable point of view. The product design process was enlightening for Nina as well. Through it, she gained an appreciation for the magnitude on which Universal operates and yet how every detail is considered.
The 87”W Moulin sofa is covered in a performance velvet.
This collaboration is a coup for both partners. Universal has tapped a fresh personality, incredibly passionate about design and thoughtful in her process, who has an aesthetic not yet represented in its portfolio. Nina, excited by the opportunity to create “something distinctive that offers livable luxury”, has the support of a reputable forward-thinking furniture brand.
