Let’s take a trip across the pond! For this week’s Dinner + Design feature, we are headed to London! Located in England, London is known to be the most populated city in the United Kingdom. European interior and architectural designs can always be recognized for innovation and creativity. As a designer, I often look at European themes and pieces when designing a residential or hospitality space. The Frontline Club Restaurant is London’s hidden design gem located in Paddington.
The Frontline Club, located in an existing 19th-century building received a complete renovation by Skene Catling de la Peña. The restaurant and club space features high ceilings and an exposed brick to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Of all the unique features in this design, I admire how the use of the original brick walls has been maintained to complement and merge the new furniture and design elements throughout the restaurant. The new design features a beautiful endless bar that was carved out of a solid block of stone filled with lines of natural crystal.
Included in the new design renovation, a beautiful mezzanine level has been added to offer more dining room seating. The upper mezzanine level features a curved staircase that has been constructed in polished chrome.
Beyond the stunning design, Frontline Club offers the best sustainably sourced British cuisine from their farm in Ellingham, Norfolk. I will definitely be adding this to my list of places to visit on my next trip to London!
