The right leather sofa can bring much detail and charm to any space. However, depending on the style, a leather sofa can make or break a space (now let me explain); you can either have a big frumpy and stale sofa that makes your space look old and tired, or a soft understated modern sofa that makes a room look more high-end and appealing.
When searching for a leather sofa, look for one with clean lines and less sheen. Sophistication is key and you don’t want it to scream “look at me and squeal” when you walk into a room (or perhaps this is just a little dramatization through a designer’s eyes). Nevertheless, depending on the look and feel you are going for, you can never go wrong with one that has a sleek shape, minimal detailing, and is in a warm tone. Yes, modern sofas, although minimal in detail, can still provide a sense of character and style to any particular space (don’t underestimate their beauty ;)). Just keep in mind a big frumpy one says hello 80’s sitcom, and that should not be your home’s goal, EVER!
