My design firm Contour Interior Design’s latest project was recently featured in the Summer Issue of Interiors Texas Modern Luxury. It was such an honor for them to showcase our work. The featured project, Couture Modern Residence, was by far one of my favorites and the images displays it all. Special thanks to the Modern Luxury team for giving us recognition for our work, we are truly honored and grateful to be among the pages with so many other talented designers.
BEHIND-THE-SCENES
Initially the clients contacted us as their home was in development to being built in a master-planned community with several homes with the same style, and they did not want their house to look like a production home. They hired us during the architectural planning phase to give their house a contemporary look which their builder was not accustomed to designing. We designed as much as the builder would allow in terms of floor plan i.e., altered the staircase to be straight rather than curved, opened up the living room floor plan, etc., from start to finish. We then improved the electrical plans, and designed all hard and soft finishes.
We wanted to incorporate many innovative design products in the home so we used an Horizon Tile’s Alabastri Di Rex as an art piece on the dining room wall. The result was an extremely high-end modern home which our clients were exceptionally pleased with. The living room included furniture from notable European brands such as Minotti and Roche Bobois. The wow feature in the home is the architectural wood statement piece on the living room’s high ceilings leading the tile from the fireplace to halfway in the ceiling. A tile bench was created for additional seating in front of the fireplace. The end result is breathtakingly beautiful in person.
