The Milan Furniture Fair, better known as Salone del Mobile, is one of the largest weeklong furniture fairs in the world and this year’s annual Salone del Mobile in Milan brought over 2,000 exhibitors and 300,000-plus visitors from 165 countries.
Although I was not able to attend this amazing event, I had the pleasure of sharing the experience through the eyes of my very good friend Adrian Duenas, CEO of BeDesign – Houston + Madrid . During the exhibition, Adrian acted as my official style spotter as he traveled through the city of Milan capturing all the latest contemporary furnishings and designs.
The Salone del Mobile is by far one of my favorite design events to experience because it involves the entire city. The success of Salone can be accredited to its “Fuorisalone”, which is an assortment of initiatives and events of all kinds that transform the city of Milan into a marvelous playground for ideas + concepts to come to life. The exhibition is held ever year in April and showcases the latest in furniture and design from all over the world – one could easily stay the whole month as Milan’s highly noted Fashion Week precedes the Salone del Mobile!
If you are a serious design lover like me, this is the spot to view and experience new products and trends emerging in the interior design industry, plus there are many events for mingling with some of the hottest names in design. Adrian’s reports and images of Milan Design Week left my head buzzing with tons of ideas and inspirations for a few of my upcoming projects!! If you follow me on Instagram, you understand the reason for the buzz!
Now, with my thoughts and favorite images gathered from the week, enjoy some of the selections of the most innovative and inspirational showrooms dedicated to quality design. Check out just a few of our favorite below!
