An Immersive Hospitality Experience Rooted in the Soul of Mexico
Nina Magon Studio is proud to unveil Eleven Eleven Cocktail Lounge, a cinematic new hospitality destination located in Houston’s vibrant Montrose neighborhood. Conceived as a fully immersive and sensory-driven environment, the project draws inspiration from the raw beauty, artisanal craftsmanship, and spiritual depth of Mexico, translating those influences through a contemporary architectural lens. More than a cocktail lounge, Eleven Eleven was designed as a transportive experience where atmosphere, materiality, and emotion converge to create a world entirely its own.
From the moment guests enter the space, they are immersed in a moody and sculptural environment defined by organic forms, layered textures, and dramatic architectural gestures. Curved corridors, illuminated openings, and fluid transitions create a cinematic rhythm throughout the lounge, encouraging moments of discovery and intimacy at every turn. Venetian plaster was meticulously applied across the walls, ceilings, mirrors, millwork, and architectural openings, enveloping the space in a richly tactile material palette that feels both primal and refined.
At the center of the lounge is its defining architectural statement: a dramatic custom dome inspired by the cenotes of Mexico. Positioned above the bar, the sculptural form creates a cavernous canopy that anchors the lounge while reinforcing the project’s immersive atmosphere. Throughout the interiors, warm terracotta tones, earthy neutrals, oxidized greens, and muted stone textures establish a restrained monochromatic palette that enhances the intimate mood of the space.
Authentic vintage Mexican pottery displayed throughout illuminated wall niches reinforces the lounge’s connection to artisanal heritage and handcrafted tradition. Custom wood installations, sculptural lighting, integrated greenery, and bespoke furniture detailing further layer the environment with warmth and natural materiality. Metal accents were intentionally introduced to contrast the softness of the plaster and wood elements, creating a balanced interplay between rawness and refinement. Every design decision was approached holistically to ensure a cohesive and emotionally driven experience.
Lighting played a central role in shaping the atmosphere of Eleven Eleven. Integrated architectural lighting was carefully concealed throughout the space to accentuate curvature, texture, and shadow, allowing the architecture itself to become part of the sensory experience. Even the restrooms were approached as an extension of the overall design narrative, featuring warm terracotta-inspired plaster finishes, checkerboard flooring, sculptural mirrors, and layered planting moments that continue the immersive journey through every inch of the lounge.
The hospitality experience is further elevated through a world-class culinary and cocktail program featuring cocktails crafted by the acclaimed bartenders of Mexico City’s globally celebrated Handshake Speakeasy alongside cuisine by Michelin-starred chef Emmanuel Chavez. Together, architecture, hospitality, cuisine, and atmosphere merge seamlessly to create one of Nina Magon Studio’s most immersive and transportive hospitality projects to date.
